Bars Are The Revolutionary
Replacement For Steel Bars
What Makes Reinforcement Bars Better Than Steel?
Composite (FRP) rebars are manufactured by pultrusion. FRP rebars have been used as an alternative to steel rebars for reinforcement of concrete structure, building foundations, roads and more.
DEVCO offer two types of bars:
- With a sand surface treatment.
- Without a sand surface treatment.
This surface treatment consists of applying a silica sand before the pultrusion process. This process gives the bar up to 60% improved bond to concrete.

ADVANTAGES OF FRP
BARS AS AN ALTERNATIVE
TO STEEL BARS

EXAMPLES OF USE
- Civil construction:
• Foundations of buildings and structures.
• Reinforcement of foundation slabs.
• As a cost-effective alternative to epoxy-coating and galvanising.
• As a first-cost savings over stainless steel bar.
- Construction and Agriculture:
• Reinforcement of concrete tanks, sewerage shafts and covers.
• Reconstruction and redevelopment of buildings.
• Strengthening of water works and coastal structures.
• Construction of silage pits, gutter reinforcement and troughs.
- Road and railway engineering:
• Reinforcement of road, pavements, motorways and airfields.
• Weight reduction and reinforcement of bridges and bridge structures.
• Reinforcement of retaining walls, road, railway embankments.
